Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using HomeGnome ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Description of Service

HomeGnome is a household management application that helps users coordinate bill splitting, chore assignments, shopping lists, messaging, and calendar events within shared living spaces ("Homes").

User Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• One person may not maintain more than one account.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation
• Upload malicious code or content
• Use automated means to access the Service without permission
• Impersonate another person or entity

User Content

You retain ownership of content you create within the Service (bills, chores, messages, etc.). By posting content, you grant HomeGnome a license to store, display, and share that content with other members of your Homes as necessary to provide the Service.

You are responsible for the content you post. Do not share sensitive information like full bank account numbers, social security numbers, or other confidential data.

Bill Splitting Disclaimer

HomeGnome provides tools to track and calculate shared expenses but does not process payments. The Service is a tracking tool only. Users are responsible for settling balances outside of the application. HomeGnome is not responsible for disputes between users regarding money owed.

Service Tiers

HomeGnome offers different service tiers (Free, Premium, etc.) with varying features and limitations. Feature availability is subject to your tier level and may change with notice.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page.

Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HomeGnome shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. These terms are subject to change without prior notice. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or through the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
